Nau mai, haere mai – Welcome to the Connected classroom - Flammable Refrigerants course.
Workers require specific knowledge and proven practical competency to reduce the inherent risk when working with Hazardous Substances. Our courses aim to provide workers and PCBU with the necessary information to properly manage the risks from Refrigeration plant that utilise Flammable, Toxic, or Very-High-Pressure Refrigerants.
Hazardous atmospheres must be anticipated during the service and maintenance of refrigeration systems with flammable refrigerants; therefore, they must only be completed by personnel with proven knowledge, skills, and experience. (Competency)
In this module, you will learn about the necessary risk management strategies for ASHRAE A2/A2L/B2L/A3 flammable refrigerants.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
This course addresses the competencies for NZQA Unit Standard 29563v2 - Demonstrate knowledge of flammable refrigerants used in refrigeration and air conditioning industries. Level 2 | Credits: 2

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians and Apprentices.
PRE-REQUISITES
None. It is recommended that participants have existing refrigeration competencies.
DURATION:
This course will require on average 10 - 20 hours.
