Nau mai, haere mai – Welcome to the LP waste oil draining module.

Workers require specific knowledge and proven practical competency to reduce the inherent risk when working with Hazardous Substances. Our courses aim to provide workers and PCBU with the necessary information to properly manage the risks from Refrigeration plant that utilise Flammable, Toxic, or Very-High-Pressure Refrigerants.

In this module, you will learn about the fundamental concepts and principles required to safely perform Low-pressure waste oil draining on refrigeration systems containing Anhydrous Ammonia.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

Through a combination of activities, we will cover a range of topics including:
- Why do we drain oil
- Knowing when to drain
- Draining Hazards
- Hierarchy of controls
- Valve positions
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Incident Initial Action Plan
- Formative assessment

By the end of this course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of oil draining and the ability to apply your knowledge in real-world situations.

Refrigeration Technicians, Plant Operators, Health, and Safety Professionals.

PRE-REQUISITES:

It is recommended that participants have pre-existing Ammonia Refrigeration Competencies

DURATION:

This course will require on average 0.5 - 1 hour.
